Tracking & GA4 conversions

Bidding is only as good as the data under it

Smart Bidding makes a decision on every auction using your conversion data. When that data is wrong, the algorithm optimizes toward the wrong thing and your budget pays for the mistake. We rebuild measurement on GA4, server-side tagging, and Consent Mode v2 so the numbers Google bids on are the numbers your business actually cares about.

Why Consent Mode v2 broke a lot of accounts[Search]

From March 6, 2024, advertisers serving the EEA and UK must run Consent Mode v2 with a certified consent platform to keep remarketing and measurement features working. Plenty of accounts missed it, and the symptom is quiet: conversions undercount, audiences shrink, and Smart Bidding slowly loses the signal it needs. We implement Consent Mode v2 properly and confirm the data is flowing before trusting any automated bid strategy.

The measurement stack

Good measurement does not require expensive software. It requires the standard Google stack, configured correctly and checked often.

Tracking integrity is the fifth lever in our five-lever method, and the one most likely to quietly undermine the other four.

Tracking and GA4 questions

Smart Bidding sets every bid from your conversion data. If that data is undercounted or double-counted, the algorithm optimizes toward the wrong outcome and spend follows. Clean tracking is the input that makes Target CPA and Target ROAS trustworthy, which is why we fix measurement before touching bid strategy on any account.

Consent Mode v2 is how Google adjusts tags based on a user’s consent choices. Since March 6, 2024, EEA and UK advertisers must run it with a certified consent platform to keep remarketing and measurement working. If you serve those regions without it, your conversion data and audiences quietly degrade. We implement it correctly.

Server-side tagging moves tag firing from the browser to a server container, which improves data accuracy, page speed, and resilience against ad blockers and browser restrictions. It is more work to set up than client-side tags, but for accounts spending real money it recovers conversions that browser-only setups lose.

Google Ads now defaults to data-driven attribution, which spreads conversion credit across the path rather than crediting only the last click. That changes which campaigns look profitable. We make sure your attribution model and conversion windows are set deliberately, so reporting reflects how customers actually convert.
